The Finish Line
Congratulations! You have completed the Respiratory System Obstacle Course. In this course, you've learned everything from the different structures of the system to what air actually does once it enters your body. Now you're that much smarter and knowledgeable about how your respiratory system.
It doesn't end here though. There is still more you can do to ensure that your body and systems stay in tip top shape so it's not like you're running a tough obstacle course in bad shape. Everything we put into our bodies affect it somehow and someway. Whether the effect be a good one or bad one lies on just what you let enter your body.
For example, let's consider smoking. It is one of the most harmful things you can do to your body. It affects so many functions and worst of all, it's a hard habit to break. Remember that voice box we were talking about, the larynx? Smoke long enough and it won't work well for you at all. It can actually cause you to have a hole in your larynx and require you to talk with a artificial larynx.
